Description

ECI is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the MRG quality team in Norwood, MA.  In this role, the Quality Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance and ensure effectiveness to the quality control system defined in the transportation division, target the objectives within the department and participate in the continuous improvement process within the operations.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure that the quality processes are executed in an effective manner with the capability of identifying opportunities between the product process and operations.
  • Implement inspection methods to verify that product is released according to customer requirements
  • Measure control and maintain optimal levels of quality costs incurred in the operations.
  • Identify and develop plans focused on the improvement of the quality operational system that supports in meeting customer and corporate targets.
  • Ensure resources to comply to quality containments such as (CSL2, CSL1, CPC, GP-12, QRQS y FTQ) and demonstrate effectiveness.
  • Participate in operation staff meetings to communicate and monitor KPI defined by the plant.
  • Develop action plan for processes and objectives that are reported out of the goal.
  • The Quality Manager has the authority to stop any process and delivery of parts that have an effective of product integrity or affect company’s reputation on product delivery.
  • Develop and Implement Continuous improvement initiatives, planning & coordination as part of the effectiveness of the (QMS) Quality Management System
  • Ensure conformance to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 regulatory and legal requirements
  • Adhere to company objectives of continual improvement and on time delivery
  • Coordinates the activities of internal and external auditors to ensure all audits are conducted in a timely and efficient way, in compliance with legal and other requirements
  • Analyze key metrics for trends indicating effectiveness of the QMS and identifies areas for improvement, monitoring the results of the process performance on a regular basis
  • Oversee Monitoring, Measurements, and Testing records, functions, and suppliers
  • Interact with customers and suppliers on all quality matters
  • Manage Approved supplier qualifications and database in conjunction with Purchasing Manager
  • Review Return Material (RMAs) in coordination with the MRB Board members, identification of root cause on defects on these RMA’s
  • Facilitate QMS meetings on a regular basis as required by ISO standards
  • Educate and provide Training to all employees within the organization
  • Work with the Upper Management to establish quality goals
  • Conduct regular department and management review meetings
  • Ongoing oversight and Training of Internal Auditors
  • Scheduling and Management of all Internal Audits to ensure effectiveness of QMS
  • Manage Quality Control Department activities as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Lean or Six Sigma certification is desirable
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) desirable
  • Minimum 5 years in quality management roles in a process-oriented, high volume manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 3 years direct staff management and coaching experience
  • Wire & Cable, wire harness fabrication or closely related industry experience is highly preferred
  • Core Tools Knowledge (APQP, PPAP, AMEF, SPC, MSA).
  • Knowledge in Quality Systems Requirements (ISO9001 / ISOTS16949).
  • Substantial experience as internal facilitator using root cause analysis and problem-solving tools
  • Expertise in the use of problem-solving techniques (8D's / 5WHy's /Ishikawa/Cause and Effect Diagrams, Red X, DOE’s, etc.).
  • Experience in the product and process release procedures
  • Knowledge of complaint handling, medical device and vigilance reporting, product risk assessments, internal/external audits, and Corrective and Preventative Action.

  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills at all levels coupled with strong social/emotional IQ
  • Ability to travel as needed to customers and suppliers, including Mexico locations
  • Ability to reconcile and interpret quality data
  • Use of Minitab
  • Ability to perform audits defined by the organization
  • Strong Negotiation, leadership and teamwork skills.
