Responsibilities:
- Manages the fleet of company-owned vehicles, short and long haul trucks, trailers, and drivers to ensure optimum productivity, service levels, and revenue, and understanding and meeting the needs of our customers and drivers.
- Oversees the budget and expenses and analyzes data to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Develops and implement fleet management policies and procedures.
- Monitors and tracks vehicle usage, fuel consumption, maintenance schedules, and coordinates vehicle repairs.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and safety standards. Completes all IFTA requirements.
- Interprets policies and demonstrates subject matter expertise.
- Exercises sound judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate actions.
- Ensures drivers adhere to HOS/DOT requirements and maintain accurate ETA’s and ready times.
- Manages and maintains the relationship with vendors, negotiating, purchasing, disposal, and licensing requirements.
- Ensures all regulatory activities are conducted on a regular basis and within the specified guidelines and timelines.
- Must be willing and able adjust the work schedule to ensure the business needs are met.
- Some travel will be required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides direct supervision to the drivers and sets goals and objectives for team members for the achievement of operational results.
- Recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Conducts performance reviews and salary actions
- Accomplishes results through performance management by assessing development needs and job performance and provides guidance through coaching and counseling.
