Job Title: HR Business Partner

Employment Status: Full-Time; Non-exempt 

Pay Range: $98,000 - $110,000/year

Location: 215 Taylor St, San Francisco, CA 94102

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm 

 

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO), the HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position creates and supports partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects TNDC’s business objectives. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business knowledge about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Responsibilities

  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Conducts weekly meetings with respective business units.
  • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Collaborate with business analysts to design and refine workforce reports and data dashboards, enabling ongoing analysis of retention, engagement, and internal pay equity to drive continuous improvements.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work. relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Partners with HR team regarding new hires, rehires, promotions, and transfers.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Partners with Learning and Development to identify training needs for business units and individual coaching needs.
  • Partner with the HR Team to enhance HR processes, ensuring managers and employees are directed to the right resources and aligning operations with business needs.
  • Timely and accurate tracking of exit and post-hire survey data within HRIS system.
  • Promotes TNDC’s Mission and five Core Values.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Staffing

  • Provide assistance and coordinate with managers to ensure new hires receive Performance Goals and Objectives, preferably within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Manage employee voluntary and involuntary separations to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.   Ensure Payroll is notified on a timely basis.

.HRIS, Reporting and Compliance 

Coordinate the development of HRIS data gathering and reporting. Collaborate with HR team to ensure: 

  • Timely and accurate input of information into the company’s HRIS (Paycom). 

  • Timely and accurate processing of transfers and separations.  

  • Timely and accurate tracking of exit and post-hire survey data.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and systems.

 

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Strong working knowledge of San Francisco labor ordinances.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bilingual English and Spanish, Cantonese or Mandorin
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Paycom HRIS system.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
