POSITION SUMMARY

The Technical Writer will develop comprehensive documentation that meets NFPA industry standards. They will obtain a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content. The Technical Writer will write user-friendly content that meets the needs of our dealer network, end users, and internal Rosenbauer teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values.  The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer. 

1. Creates user manuals, training guides, process documentation that meets the needs of varied audiences and meets the requirements of industry standards.
2. Develops comprehensive documentation that meets NFPA industry standards.
3. Obtains a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content.
4. Writes user-friendly content that meets the needs of our dealer network, end users, and internal Rosenbauer teams.
5. Develops and maintains detailed databases of appropriate reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications.
6. Evaluates current content and develops innovative approaches to improvement.
7. Researches, outlines, writes, and edits new and existing content.
8. Works closely with various teams (Engineering, Technical Service, Field Service, Production, Quality Control, and Training) to understand project requirements.
9. Works with development and support leads to revise, edit, and determine the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage.
10. Researches, creates, and maintains information architecture templates that uphold Rosenbauer America organizational and legal standards.
11. Develops content in alternative media forms for maximum usability with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation.
12. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company.
