Patient Care Tech or Medical Assistant (or Internal LPNs or RNs) - Primary Care Clinic

The Patient Care Technician or Medical Asst provides patient-centered care and assignments for patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the clinic. Tasks that are delegated to the PCT or MA may include:

• Recording vital statistics and other basic data collection
• Administer basic health care and medical treatments
• Select point of care testing and/or collection of non-invasive specimen collection 
• Clean and stock treatment and/or exam rooms
• Prepare patient treatment areas for use
• Prepare and clean medical equipment
• Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare
• Adheres to and promotes the established values of the organization

Strong communication, customer service, multi-tasking, and organizational skills are needed on a daily basis.

Hours/Shifts
72 hours biweekly, day shifts.

Compensation
The PCT wage range is $17.99 - $23.04/hour. The MA wage range is $21.99-$28.15/hour. Internal LPNs or RNs will also be considered for this role. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

1. Education/Special Skills: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) if hired as a PCT. Certification as a Medical Assistant is required for MA hires.
2. Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies preferred.
3. Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.
4. Must be able to attend the work site as scheduled.
5. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
6. BLS required upon hire or obtained within 3 months of hire.
7. Ability to communicate effectively, in English, both orally and in writing.
