The Pension Boards Summer Internship Program is a ten-week paid internship that runs from June 2nd to August 8th, 2025. Our exclusive program will engage and select the brightest students from some of the best colleges in New York and beyond to experience and delve into the Pension Boards’ core areas of work including Investments, Finance, Customer Care, Information Technology, Ministerial Assistance, Health Plans, Marketing and Communications. This opportunity provides students with:

Location – this program is a hybrid internship which is virtual and based out of our NYC Location – 475 Riverside Drive, near Columbia University and Barnard College. The Pension Boards does not offer reimbursements for relocation, housing or commuting costs.
 

What you’ll do:

  • Assist with member transaction processing, review, reporting, and data analytics.
  • Research and conduct quality control on credit memo workflow.
  • Participate in specialized Microsoft Visio training, job shadowing, and documenting process flow charts. 
  • Partner with Senior Specialists on technical system User Acceptance Testing and provide success/failure reports.
  • Assist Member Services groups with ad hoc projects and other duties as requested
  • Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with colleagues.
  • Help prepare materials for internal presentations, training videos, memos and projects.
     

Qualifications

What you’ll need:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Business, Finance, or related discipline preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to think and work independently within a professional setting
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Flexibility to work within a multiple disciplinary team and receive dynamic on-the-job training
  • Highly organized; ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong oral, written communication and follow up skills
  • Independent problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task priorities appropriately to work within structured procedure’s
  • Must possess a collegial attitude in a team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including, Outlook, Excel and Word
