Position: Camp Counselor 

Description & Requirements 

Job Position: 

Under the general supervision of the Camp Director, performs a variety of activities related to the function required to maintain the Camp Programs at the recreational facility. 

Duties and Responsiblities: 

• Assists camp director with supervision of programs and activities. 

• Executes policies and procedures professionally and accurately. 

• Management of daily camp activities. 

• Communicates accurate and professional information to parents and children. 

• Responsible for alerting camp director to any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions 

• Maintains a clean and safe environment for children and staff. 

• Responsible for daily and nightly cleaning of facility. 

• Communicates all information verbally and in writing to camp director. 

• Responsible for attending staff meetings and trainings. 

• Responsible for completing all other tasks as assigned by supervisor. 

Qualifications 

• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays 

• 2 years of demonstrated work experience in ice rink or recreational facility or equivalent. 

• High school graduate or equivalent 

• Prior management/supervisory experience preferred 

Working Conditions 

Work responsibilities will be performed in a standard office environment, however all functions named in this section could also be performed on an ice surface or in a recreational facility, depending on the location. Work may be required indoor and outdoor. 

Additional Conditions: 

• Use of standard office equipment that includes computers and software packages, fax and copy machines, telephones, and cash registers 

• Use of maintenance and cleaning equipment that may include ice resurfacing machines, ice maintenance equipment, skate sharpeners, vacuums, mops, and any other equipment associated with use in a recreational facility 

Physical Requirements 

This position can involve sitting, standing, walking, running, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and ice skating.
