Are you passionate about empowering youth and fostering community connections? Join our team as a Membership Area Manager and help drive membership growth and engagement in your community!

 

As a Membership Area Manager, you will play a vital role in expanding our reach, ensuring youth and adults discover the joys of Girl Scouting. You will oversee Membership staff, develop innovative strategies to achieve recruitment and retention goals, and build lasting relationships with community partners and volunteers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Staff Management
•    Lead efforts to achieve membership and retention goals through data analysis and creative strategies.
•    Hire, guide, and supervise Membership staff, offering constructive feedback and support to enhance performance.
Community Outreach & Engagement
•    Analyze demographic data to design inclusive marketing strategies, especially for underrepresented groups.
•    Foster culturally responsive practices by engaging with communities and adapting approaches based on their feedback.
•    Build relationships with local leaders and stakeholders to increase visibility and support for Girl Scouting.
Collaboration & Innovation
•    Partner with other Membership Area Managers and the Director of Membership to implement innovative growth strategies.
•    Share best practices and contribute to Council-wide initiatives aligned with membership objectives.
Volunteer Support
•    Train and guide administrative volunteers, ensuring they have the tools to support membership efforts.
•    Recognize volunteer contributions and address challenges to keep them motivated and engaged.
Cross-Departmental Support
•    Collaborate with other departments to develop retention programs, implement grant-funded initiatives, and support Council activities such as cookie sales and the annual giving campaign.

 

Qualifications:
•    Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
•    Proven ability to supervise and motivate a diverse team across various service areas.
•    Analytical and problem-solving expertise to evaluate trends and identify opportunities.
•    Excellent communication skills to engage diverse audiences, including youth, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
•    Commitment to fostering inclusivity in recruitment and programming.
•    Conflict resolution and volunteer management experience.
•    Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
•    Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for meetings and events.
•    Reliable car transportation for regular travel within the jurisdiction.
Preferred Qualifications:
•    Familiarity with Girl Scouting and its structure.
•    Experience managing membership or volunteer activities in a nonprofit setting.
•    Professional staff supervision experience.

The starting salary range for this position is $76,000 - $80,000.
