Description

Maintains safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

  • Arrive on time, in uniform to your assigned post
  • Perform security patrols of designated areas by vehicle or foot throughout the duration of your shift
  • Keep a daily log of all activity during your assigned shift
  • Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities
  • Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
  • Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
  • Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
  • Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits
  • Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property
  • Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Works in environments and under conditions that require carrying authorized weapons and ammunition, the use of protective gear and devices, and awareness of personal safety and safety of others.
  • Required to utilize rapid and effective judgment in responding to unusual or emergency situations using appropriate escalation of force level.
  • Experience in physical security, military service, law enforcement or a related field, sufficient to meet the minimum requirements for state and local licensing and/or site standards as established by the company.

Qualifications

  • MD Security guard certification card
  • MD Handgun permit
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must have access to reliable transportation
  • Must submit to drug testing, an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules and respond to work assignments with little to no advance notice.
