Job Summary

As a Relief Veterinarian at Evette, you’ll deliver high-quality medical care across a variety of clinical settings—including private practices, animal hospitals, and shelters. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the health and happiness of animals while supporting pet owners with expert guidance and compassionate care.


Key Responsibilities

Diagnosis & Treatment

  • Perform physical exams and diagnose medical conditions

  • Provide treatment, including surgery, dental care, and vaccinations

  • Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans

  • Monitor recovery and follow-up care

Preventive Care

  • Conduct routine wellness exams and administer vaccinations

  • Advise on nutrition, exercise, and general animal care

  • Educate clients on preventive healthcare strategies

Emergency Care

  • Respond to urgent cases and provide emergency treatment

  • Stabilize critically ill or injured animals with compassionate care

Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

  • Document diagnostics, treatments, and communications

Client Communication

  • Clearly explain diagnoses, treatment options, and next steps

  • Provide empathetic support and education to pet owners

Collaboration

  • Work closely with veterinary technicians and support staff

  • Refer to and consult with specialists as needed

Administrative & Compliance

  • Support day-to-day clinic operations and scheduling

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and veterinary standards

Professional Development

  • Stay current on industry trends and medical advancements

  • Attend CE courses, seminars, and conferences

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Skills: Strong diagnostic, surgical, and clinical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and staff.

Personal Attributes:

  • Compassionate and empathetic towards animals and their owners.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies calmly.

Education and Experience:

 Education:

  • Education: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
  • Licensing: Valid veterinary license in the state or country of practice.
  • Experience: Previous experience in veterinary practice is often required, especially for specialized roles.

Physical Requirements:

  •  Veterinarians may work in various settings, including animal hospitals, clinics, research facilities, and animal shelters.
  • The job may require working long hours, including weekends and holidays, depending on the practice.
  • Lifting up to 10-100lbs
