- Read and interpret engineering drawings, production routings, layouts, and set-up sheets.
- Use precision measuring equipment to verify dimensional conformance of parts.
- Set-up and operate various classes of production CNC machines including; lathes, vertical mills, and horizontal mills.
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, holding fixtures and tool holders.
- Experience with the download and start-up of CNC programs.
- MUST be able to write simple to complex CNC programs at the machine and make tool offsets and adjustments as needed.
- MUST be proficient in various CAM programming software- i.e. CAMWorks, Fusion 360, and/or Mastercam
- Operate manual machine tools as needed.
- Provide training and assistance to other employees in the CNC machine cell.
- Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts.
- Training on studying blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
- Training on the following: Set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
- Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
- Possesses a mid-level working knowledge of other job functions within all of the Production areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
