In this position you would:
- Build and assemble control panels from schematics prepared by engineering group.
- Terminate wires to PLC’s, motors, VFD’s, circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Wire prepping, crimping, soldering and red line documentation
- Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.
- Assists other departments as required and other duties as assigned
Can you apply these knowledge, skills and abilities?
- Ability to read/interpret technical drawings (AutoCAD, blueprints, etc.)
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective safety operations regarding electrical systems. Must be highly safety conscious.
- Must show good initiative, organization and follow-through.
- Strong communication skills, orally and in writing.
- Ability to be resourceful in looking for solutions to overcome any issue
- Knowledge of food processing or related product lines and general knowledge of a custom machinery environment and food handling systems preferred
- Must work well within a team and at the same time be able to make independent decisions.
Do you possess this level of Education and/or Experience?
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- 2-5 years previous experience with electrical/electronic control panel building in a manufacturing environment preferred.
