The Buyer 1 is responsible for purchasing material, parts, components, assemblies, and MRO utilized in Production and Aftermarket business. Responsibilities include quoting, placing orders, returns to suppliers, confirming orders, expediting delivery and communicating schedule changes to operations and sales.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process orders including sending PO’s and confirmations.
  • Follow up with suppliers.
  • Confirm pricing.
  • Expedite orders.
  • Reconciling invoicing issues.
  • Perform timely resolution of past due purchase orders to meet departmental goals.
  • Assist with monitoring, tracking, and providing feedback on supplier’s performance, price, delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Quickly and efficiently process supplier quality returns.
  • Ensure prompt communication of schedule changes throughout Operations, Sales and Lifecycle Services.
  • Work with cross functional teams including shipping, stockroom, accounting, production, and planning.
  • Communicate Bill of Material discrepancies to Engineering.
  • Report inventory discrepancies to Warehouse Manager.
  • Projects and other responsibilities as directed by manager.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear; uses hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. On occasion, may be required to climb and work in high places, stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The incumbent must occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The position is an office-based position with visits to the manufacturing area. In the manufacturing area, employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and may occasionally be exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but at times loud.
