POSITION SUMMARY:
The fabricator will use fabricating techniques to build stainless steel food processing machinery, and use their knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. They will use their knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. The fabricator will manage how much time is used on a project and will perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed. They will also convey information effectively so that the job can be completed in the appropriate manner. The fabricator will observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources before
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operates manufacturing equipment and uses safe work habits while performing the job function.
• Read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
• Use your understanding of fabrication mathematics.
• Measure and verify dimensions using various measuring devices: tape measure, calipers, machinist square, pro-tractor.
• Identify, retrieve, and install the required punch based on bend radius.
• Identify, retrieve, and install the required die based on material thickness.
• Download program files, or program a press brake at the controller.
• Program each program step using tonnage mode, angle mode/absolute position.
• Properly and safely operate a press brake from a variety of manufacturers.
• Knowledge of a CNC laser cutting machine and other machinery used in the production process.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve operating and fabricating challenges.
• Communicate potential problems to lead/supervisor
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Comply with all quality, safety and work rules and regulations.
• Understand and maintain both quality and quantity standards and expectations.
• Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance.
• Other tasks assigned by the lead or department manager.
