POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of an Electrical Assembly Technician is to ensure that Marlen equipment is compliant with customer specification prior to shipment. This role will work directly with production, engineering, and service personnel to plan and execute the inspection process in accordance to meeting customer ship dates. This role will be responsible for working hours required to meet customer deadlines, requiring overtime and may include weekends. This role is responsible for performing work in a safe manner and maintaining a clean production work area.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Read, interpret, and understand schematics including component and symbol recognition.
• Utilizing schematic, plan electrical assembly and wiring sequence.
• Follow electrical schematic for assembling electrical junction boxes, line connections, stop buttons, push buttons, safety switches, outlets, single and three phase motors, variable frequency drives (VFD’s), PLC’s, electrical sub-assemblies, and other electrical units.
• Build and install control panels, perform machine startups, and troubleshoot wiring issues.
• Wire complete machines and systems.
• Complete and document in-process inspections.
• Properly utilize a variety of hand tools for assembly and wiring.
• Communicate potential problems to lead/manager.
• Ensure assembly tasks are completed within budget and on-time per schedule.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Comply with all quality, safety and work rules and regulations.
• Understand and maintain both quality and quantity standards and expectations.
• Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance.
• Other tasks assigned by the lead or department manager.
