We are looking for a Laser Operator to join the production team on swing shift! Swing Shift offers a 4-day work week schedule and a shift differential equal to 15% additional pay!

Summary:

The Laser Operator 1 will operate CNC laser cutting machines to fabricate metals parts from sheet stock.

Essential Responsibilities:

•    At all times ensures safety is the top priority while performing any part of the job.
•    Follows Supervisor instructions.
•    Reads job specifications to determine the correct machine adjustments and material requirements.
•    Utilizes forklifts and overhead lifting devices to load and align raw material on laser bed.
•    Loads pre-developed programs into controller.
•    Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions.
•    Monitors cutting process and adjusts machine settings to meet quality and quantity standards.
•    Removes laser cut parts from the laser bed and place them on carts and/or pallets.
•    Promptly contacts Supervisor or Lead if any problems with material or equipment arise.
•    Reads and comprehends basic blueprints.
•    Safely operates hand tools such as grinders, bevel mills, drills, etc.
•    Consistently performs laser clean up duties including emptying trays.
•    Identifies the next nest to be run.
•    Obtain and maintain forklift certification.
•    Opens programs and performs restarts as needed.
•    Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six to twelve months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
