POSITION SUMMARY:
Select, evaluate, and manage new vendor partnerships while driving purchase price variance (PPV). Develop an understanding of the big-picture objectives and business strategy. Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders and senior management, along with data analytics, to solve problems and achieve business goals. Possesses strong leadership qualities, time management, contracting and negotiation skills. Responsible for implementing strategic sourcing initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research and develop supplier specific strategies in accordance with organization’s vision and goals.
- Partner with stakeholders, department managers and senior management to understand business needs.
- Manage supplier selection, using best practices throughout the negotiation, contracting, and onboarding process.
- Deliver Purchase Price Variance (PPV) versus plan.
- Establish requirements, scope, and criteria for new suppliers.
- Develop a process to ensure that new vendor onboarding includes first article inspections.
- Collaborate with purchasing to develop vendor compliance programs.
- Manage sourcing activities including gathering quotations, analyzing bids, negotiating supply programs, and recommending supplier allocations for the procurement of materials, supplies, tools, and services.
- Drive success in a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively with suppliers, internal customers, peers, and senior management.
- Serve as a key member of the core team determining “make-or-buy” decisions.
- Work directly with engineering leaders to execute value engineering projects.
