Wage/Group:  Group III or IV, Hourly, Non-Exempt
Reports to:  Lift Operations Supervisor, Director of Mountain Operations
Pay Range: $16.28- $19.69/hr
Status:  Seasonal, Six Month (Nov-April), Full-Time/Part-Time

LIFT OPERATIONS JOB SUMMARY:
Assumes responsible charge of assigned lift.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting guests, snow removal, creating a comfortable atmosphere for guests, record-keeping and maintaining a clean, orderly, safe work area. Carries out Lift Attendant responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
 

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS:

  • Responsible for safe operation of assigned lift
  • Responsible for the safety of all guests and employees while loading, riding and unloading lifts
  • Assists all guests and employees with loading lifts
  • Maintains ramps, signs, mazes and lift stations in a safe, clean, orderly manner.
  • Maintains an operational log book as required in ANSI-B77 4.3.5.1
  • Maintains clean and orderly work stations.
  • Monitors weather and mechanical conditions including notifying maintenance of unusual observations.
  • Participates in required Lift Attendant training sessions
  • Works with other departments in cooperative and supportive role
  • Assists in training of other Lift Attendants
  • Shovel and clear snow from lift loading and unloading areas, as well as the chair lift seats.
  • Assists and supports the ticket scanner with greeting and scanning of guests and employees (validating skier counts) and promoting proper lift practices.
  • Recognizes and understands what to do when scanning issues occur for visits, hot passes, emergency contacts, etc.
  • Ability to communicate clear instructions & give proper direction to the guests regarding their safety.

 
SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Accurate record keeping and legible handwriting
  • Willingness to work with other members of the Lift Crew, other departments, and with our guests.  People skills are required on a daily basis, the ability to deal with problems and solve problems on the spot is important.  You may be the first to encounter a difficult situation or problem.  
  • A positive attitude toward fellow staff members and our guests.
  • Organizational skills and ability to maintain a clean work area are important.
  • Practical problem solving skills and the ability to deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists.  
  • The ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Valuable character traits such as honesty, common sense, reliability, and most importantly respect.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent combination of education/experience preferred.

Seeing: REGULARLY  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception.  Must posses ability to adjust focus, talk and listen.  Must be able to read.

Hearing: REGULARLY  It is essential to this position.  Must be able to hear high frequency sounds, as well as communicate with coworkers, and guests in order to prevent potential risks.

Standing/Walking: REGULARLY

Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: REGULARY

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: REGULARLY Individuals must be able to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds an dat times, more than 100 pounds.

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: REGULARLY Must be able to write, and use phone/radio systems.
