Description

Deerwood Bank is hiring a full-time Retail Manager to work in its Baxter, MN branch. This position is responsible for positively directing and growing the office, attracting and retaining new customers, promoting Deerwood Bank services and products while leading team of positive staff that further develop, retain and expand our customer relationships. This position demands a high level of customer service skills, attention to detail and adherence to all bank policies and procedures.   

 

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm

 

Starting Pay Rate: $50,000-$65,000 per year, depending on qualifications.

 

Functions, Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsibilities may include: Hiring, compensating, terminating, reviewing, coaching and supervision of Retail staff in their duties and responsibilities. Oversee schedule of teller personnel in order to maintain proper staffing. Monitor and approve hours for payroll. Monitor teller variances. Conduct consistent staff meetings.  

  • Assist customers and staff with various retail, operations and customer service support. 

  • Open, cross sell and maintain deposit and investment accounts according to bank policy and procedures. May report and attempt collection of overdrawn or past due accounts.  

  • Review, implement, and insure compliance with the Internal Control Review Program.  

  • Oversee the supply of money for bank’s needs are correct based on bank requirements and business demand.  

  • Familiar with security equipment and understands safety precautions.  

  • Cross trains employees in necessary functions of office positions. 

  • Oversee proper dual control of all areas identified in bank procedures and policies. 

  • Insure that all work performed in the teller department complies with all bank policies, procedures, laws, and regulations. 

  • Oversee monthly surprise cash counts for each teller drawer and audit any teller prior to extended vacations.  

  • Provides support for various tasks including but not limited to: verifying balances, maintain, load and balance ATM, order checks, documenting change of addresses, answering phones and questions, follow proper safe deposit box access, branch capture, redeem savings bonds, buy and sell foreign currency, prepare cashier checks, selling gift and reloadable cards, temporary cards, wire transfers, verify mail and night depository bags and envelops, accurate logs and other appropriate activates to support the banks service reputation.  

  • Maintain adequate office and bank-oriented supplies. 

  • Compliance with and oversee that staff cross sell and introduce new services to customers focusing on branch goals and regulatory guidelines.   

  • Open and close the bank following proper security procedures.  

  • Approve, deny or hold checks being cashed or deposited. 

  • Increasing and maintaining a presence in the local community including involvement in groups and organizations promoting the bank's services. 

  • Monitor and address building maintenance and repair when needed. 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Provide excellent customer service and work in a team environment. 

  • Be actively involved in community activities.  

  • Ability to prioritize and make on the spot decisions regarding customer transactions, weighing customer satisfaction issues with exposure to loss or fraud. 

  • In-depth knowledge of all bank deposit products, services and policies. 

  • Basic knowledge of bank loan and investment products. 

  • Effectively operate all office equipment required to support this position.  To include but not limited to personal computer, strong keyboarding skills, fax, scanner/copier, printer, phone system, all applications, spreadsheets, database and presentation software necessary. 

  • Must be alert to fraudulent activity, dishonesty, questionable behavior or improper handling of accounts and report to appropriate bank personnel.  

  • Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, positive attitude and pleasant personality. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Display independent judgement.  

  • Demonstrate excellent organization, prioritize workflow, adaptability and flexibility. 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be a quick thinker and learner while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.  

 
Training and Experience: 

  • Post-secondary education preferred or experience commensurate with the job duties.
