Summary

The Lead Maintenance position is responsible for overseeing the Maintenance Department, including (applicable) Maintenance employees. This position is responsible for the delegation and completion of repairs and maintenance of all machinery, equipment, vehicles, trailers and facilities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Maintain all production equipment, including tools, forklifts, pallet jacks, balers, motors, chains, conveyors, electrical panels, and all other relevant equipment
  1. Maintain and adequately perform/oversee repairs and/or necessary inspections on all company fleet vehicles, including semi trucks, trailers, etc.
  2. Research and oversee outside contractor work for out of scope repairs, etc., as necessary
  3. Keep all tools organized and accounted for
  4. General upkeep and maintenance of facility and grounds roof, doors, lighting inside and out, fans, drains and all related matters
  5. Establish and maintain an active to-do list on dry erase board/ other accessible source indicating level of importance
  6. Cost comparison research and order parts or provide purchaser details for repairs to equipment, as needed
  7. Develop new pieces of equipment, structures and so on as needed, including fabrication
  8. Establish, document and maintain preventive maintenance schedule for all relevant equipment, machinery, vehicles and other necessary items
  9. Perform/oversee preventive maintenance in accordance with established schedule and acceptable guidelines
  10. Oversees maintenance, including any applicable maintenance staff, purchases, projects, etc.
  11. Delegate and direct maintenance tasks as required
  12. Effective, efficient and professional communicate between multi departments
  13. Complete/turn in any applicable forms, including: personnel documents (attendance, review, disciplinary), expense sheets, etc.
  14. Other duties may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma, or equivalent
  • Valid State Drivers License
  • Mechanical knowledge and experience
  • General construction knowledge and experience, including fabrication
  • Relevant electrical experience and abilities
  • Technical skills and expertise
  • Management experience preferred
  • Relevant computer, reading, writing and math skills

Travel

Up to 10%, as needed

 

Computer Skills

Basic computer literacy.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical knowledge & experience (no degree or certification required)
    • MIG/TIG and ARC Welding experience
    • Plasma & Cutting torch experience
  • Construction knowledge & experience (no degree or certification required)
  • Fabrication knowledge & experience (no degree or certification required)
  • Electric knowledge & experience (no degree or certification required)
  • General Mechanical Knowledge
    • Automotive Electrical System
    • Automotive Fuel Systems
    • Automotive Braking Systems
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Relevant Math, computer, verbal and writing skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers/ vendors etc.

  • Good Organizational skills and time management skills
  • Valid State Drivers License
  • Technical skills and expertise
  • Physical lifting, including repetitive standing, bending, stretching, carrying, twisting, squatting, holding 50-100 lbs.
  • Able to pass ongoing drug screen
  • Ability and willingness to work in dusty/dirty environment with unregulated temperatures (varying extreme heat & extreme cold)

 

Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 based on experience
