Job Summary:
The Prep Cook performs basic cooking duties, monitors stock levels, and takes on culinary tasks as they arise. The right person for this position will be hard-working and responsible for setting up workstations in the kitchen and preparing ingredients for the cooking process.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Setting up and sanitizing work stations.

Follows the Daily Prep List to start each shift.

Preparing cooking ingredients to exactly as outlined for each dish.

Preparing simple dishes, such as entrees or salads.
-
Ensuring all food items are properly stored and easily accessible.

Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen.

Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen.

Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.

Promptly reports equipment, food quality problems and product shortages to Kitchen Manager.

Performs repetitive meal prep tasks exactly as outlined by the recipe cards each and every time.

Performs other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

A minimum of I year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking of similar style restaurant.

At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity.

Culinary school training would be advantageous.

Experience as a prep cook may be advantageous.
Physical Requirements:

Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.

Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
