A Marketing Producer at News 9 helps drive the Ideal Team Player culture.

Job Summary: As a Marketing Producer you will be responsible for the ideation, creation, and execution of marketing spots to promote the various Griffin Media companies including but not limited to image, branding, commercial spots, radio spots, etc. In addition, you will assist with the development of marketing strategies to further the company's goals and objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Interface with Director of Marketing, Director of Content, and Executive Producers to develop strategic campaigns and other promotion for designated brands. Campaigns will be developed in accordance and with understanding of station research, brand, and strategic goals.
  • Develop original and unique script concepts, taking into account station branding goals, target audience and desired impact, using a variety of writing styles, exhibit versatility and appropriateness in promotion tone and style.
  • Write and edit under deadline pressure and in short-term situations, maintaining high standards of quality and creativity.
  • Produce marketing material of competitive quality for the marketplace including image, branding, commercial spots, and other promotional content.
  • Demonstrate good aesthetic judgment in use of best video shots or sound bites, compelling writing, and content selection. Clearly identify and articulate selling points. Demonstrate awareness of and act in accordance with audience sensitivities regarding offensive language, overt violence, race, gender, nudity, and other potentially sensitive content.
  • Collaborate closely with teams to ensure alignment and integration of marketing initiatives with overall business objectives. Foster strong working relationships with partners to amplify marketing efforts and maximize reach.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including driving an automobile for company business.

Job Schedule: This is a full-time position primarily working 40 hours per week. You may also be called upon at times to fill in other hours and days of the week to help cover vacations, illnesses, or special projects/events. This position may be eligible to work remotely on occasion and at the discretion of the supervisor.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Broadcast Communications, Journalism, or related field. Related experience will be evaluated and may be substituted as years of education.
  • Prior marketing, sales and project management experience preferred, showcasing a proven track record of success in related roles.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail preferred, ensuring accuracy and precision in all aspects of work.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to make quick and appropriate decisions and gain the cooperation of others, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
  • Experience shooting video preferred.
  • Some in-state travel may be required.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and have a driving record acceptable to the company.
  • Ability to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
