Certifications/Licensures:
Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) with Supervision required;
Valid drivers license and the ability to obtain and maintain WestCare's vehicle insurance is required.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology or other field related to the position is preferred;
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience and Competencies:
At least five (5) years of experience working in the behavioral health or social services field required;
At least three (3) years of experience in a similar role required;
Considerable knowledge of theory, principles and techniques used in activities/recreational programming and administration required;
Ability to use office equipment, such as printers, scanners, and fax machines, required;
Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to the field required;
Ability to analyze situations accurately and develop appropriate responses or techniques required;
Ability to develop reports, create presentations, and communicate findings to both internal and external audiences required;
Professional appearance and demeanor required;
Strong relationship-building and communication skills required;
Experience leading and managing a team of professionals required;
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously required;
Adherence to the highest standards of ethical conduct required;
Experience setting and adhering to programmatic budgets preferred;
Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to the field required;
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in an office within a residential treatment setting;
Outdoor activities and travel between multiple locations may be required;
Regular and prompt attendance is required throughout employment.
