Position Summary:

The Project Director oversees the daily operations, growth, and development of WestCare KY’s BJA Second Chance Reentry Program. This position serves as an active member of the state leadership team and provides supervision and coaching to program staff. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manages the day-to-day activities of the BJA program and provides leadership to program staff;
  • Interviews and hires employees with advice and consent from the SVP of Operations, HR Representative, and other staff as appropriate;
  • Oversees the training, development, and supervision of all program staff;
  • Creates and maintains a positive working environment where all staff feel valued;
  • Develops staff work schedule and assigns daily responsibilities to ensure proper coverage for all shifts;
  • Ensures adherence to program and WestCare policies and procedures;
  • Maintains compliance with all licensing, permitting and funding bodies;
  • Ensures that all shift duties are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with WestCare procedures;
  • Reviews each employee’s job performance on a yearly basis and makes recommendations regarding employee advancement and retention;
  • Oversees all aspects of treatment for all program participants;
  • Oversees intake and evaluation of individuals needing treatment services;
  • Provides crisis intervention in accordance with WestCare policies, procedures, and ethical standards;
  • Conducts regular staff meetings to ensure productivity and collaboration amongst program staff, and offer coaching and/or training where needed;
  • Gives direction during emergency situations that would necessitate intervention;
  • Oversees facility compliance with health, fire, and other regulatory standards and bodies;
  • Reviews all reports, forms, and admission packets generated by the program to ensure accuracy and completeness;
  • Assists other WestCare staff as needed to promote cooperation and portray a professional image to the community;
  • Participates in Quality Improvement activities on an ongoing basis;
  • Embraces and embodies the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare;
  • Performs any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

 

Certifications/Licensures:

  • CADC licensure highly preferred; Preference will be given certified candidates;
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain WestCare’s vehicle insurance is required.

 

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology or other field related to the position is preferred;
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

 

Experience and Competencies:

  • At least five (5) years of experience within a counseling, social services, employment services, and/or behavioral health, environment required;
  • Considerable knowledge of theory, principles and techniques used in substance abuse programming required;
  • Ability to use office equipment, such as printers, scanners, and fax machines, required;
  • Ability to analyze situations accurately and develop appropriate responses or techniques required;
  • Ability to develop reports, create presentations, and communicate findings to both internal and external audiences required;
  • Strong relationship-building  and communication skills required
