Description

Position Summary:

The primary function of the Employment Recruiter will be doing outreach in the community to develop relationships with employers, universities, and associations to increase employment opportunities for clients. The person in this position will be responsible for the delivery of vocational and educational guidance to clients participating in the program. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop new and existing relationships with large and small employers, become familiar with their products and human resource needs using a businesslike approach.
  • Responsible for providing follow up counseling of clients in the workplace and staying connected with participants and employers to proactively resolve problems.
  • Assist employers in revising standards that exclude applicants from jobs.
  • Demonstrate to employers the cost effectiveness and profitability of employing chronically unemployed by identifying jobs those workers could perform.
  • Verify employers are a good fit for WestCare clients before sending a client to apply for an open position.
  • Attend job and career fairs.
  • Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation; and
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • 1+ year experience in a similar capacity; experience working with individuals in a substance abuse or mental health setting preferred.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the vocational counseling field.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others in a manner that is pleasant and professional.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to operate a computer and complete documents in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint program formats or the ability to learn.
  • Ability to respond as needed to crisis situations in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to complete work tasks within scheduled work hours.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willing to seek out new work projects and contribute ideas and efforts to the constant improvement of WestCare GulfCoast-Florida services.
  • Valid driver's license and must be able to qualify to drive a company vehicle.

Education:

  • Minimum Associate’s degree with 3 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in vocational counseling or related field preferre.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed primarily in a professional, office setting.
  • A minimum of 40 hours per week are expected but more hours may be required from time to time.  Completion of job duties may require working before and after normal working hours.  Regular attendance is required.  Being able to work as many hours as is necessary to complete job tasks is a required and essential duty of this position.
  • The normal work routine involves no exposure to human blood, body fluids or tissues.  However, exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be readily available to every employee.
