Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Analyst is responsible for using quantitative and qualitative data to investigate the patterns, causes, and effects of a disease (e.g., substance use disorders on public health) and exploring effective methods for prevention. The Data Analyst works directly with the WestCare staff to conduct and implement the evaluation plan and performs all related data collection, analysis, and evaluation reports adhering to federal confidentiality, privacy, and other standard practice requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation.
  • Serves as a member of the Research and Evaluation Team
  • Oversees the planning for and implementation of the project as it relates to public health.
  • Collects and analyzes data obtained from interviews, focus groups, surveys, etc. to determine potential causes of the identified health problem (e.g., substance use).
  • Tracks fidelity of program plan, assessment tools, or surveys.
  • Designs and implements statistical databases.
  • Trains staff in use of evaluation procedures or evidence-based practice tools and curriculums or coordinates such needed training.
  • Conduct focus groups with staff, participants, stakeholders, and network members.
  • Assists the program with Performance Improvement projects.
  • Designs and develops questionnaires and surveys.
  • Writes reports on indicators and outcomes as required by Evaluator.
  • Assists Program Director with presentations, papers, and data dissemination.
  • Completes assessments at all required time points.
  • Enters the required SAMHSA and WestCare databases.
  • Responsible for tracking participants. During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience:

  • Three (3) years research experience, preferably in social service field.
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (research related) is required, master’s degree is preferred.

Licensure/Certification

  • Not applicable for this position.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily performed in an office or in a Residential/Outpatient treatment setting.
  • Travel throughout and around the community to the clients’ homes and other convenient location for the clients to conduct follow-up assessments as required by evaluation plan.
  • Must have reliable transportation for approximately 150 miles per month.
  • Travel to Washington DC for grantee meetings, if/as applicable.
