Illinois College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Biology department with a primary focus on teaching introductory biology and exercise physiology, to begin in Fall 2025.
Responsibilities include teaching introductory biology for first year students, exercise physiology, and exercise testing. Preference for candidates who can also teach nutrition, strength training and/or conditioning. The successful candidate should be an enthusiastic and skilled teacher, as well as an advisor and mentor to undergraduate students, particularly those preparing for careers in athletic training, physical therapy, and other health-related fields. Engaging in research with students and contributing to the department’s growing research program in kinesiology are also key components of this role. Participation in departmental, college, and community service is expected.
Doctorate or ABD strongly preferred; master’s degree considered with strong experience.
