Illinois College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Psychology department with a specialty in counseling and abnormal psychology to begin in August 2025.


The primary responsibilities include teaching courses in Introduction to Counseling, Crisis Intervention and Counseling, and Abnormal Psychology, as well as other courses for the Psychology major, including Introduction to Psychology. Preference will be given to candidates with clinical experience, particularly in alcohol and other drug counseling, and who are licensed or can work towards licensure. The successful candidate will advise and mentor undergraduate students, particularly those preparing for careers in behavioral health and counseling. Engaging in research with students and contributing to the department’s growing Behavioral Health program, including the minor in Addictions Studies and the Concentration in Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Counseling, are also key components of this role. Participation in departmental, college, and community service is expected.
 

Doctorate or ABD required.
