Who is Comprehensive Healthcare?
Comprehensive Healthcare provides innovative behavioral health and integrated healthcare services to clients of all ages. We take pride in our creative and collaborative work environment and in delivering clinically excellent, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented services.

What are we looking for in a Therapist SUDP?

This Therapist SUDP position is part of a multidisciplinary team that provides behavioral health treatment to individuals experiencing homelessness who are temporarily residing at Camp Hope in Yakima. Working within a trauma-informed framework, Therapist SUDPs assess clients’ needs, coordinate with the client to develop a treatment plan, and provide evidence-based counseling and care coordination to help clients stabilize their symptoms and develop skills to manage their condition for the long term. This position is part of our collaborative project with Camp Hope, a low-barrier emergency homeless shelter in Yakima for adults and families. This program offers therapy, peer support, case management, and educational classes to assist Camp Hope residents with developing the skills to support their recovery and transition into stable housing. By providing behavioral health treatment, life skills education, coordination of care, and transitional housing on-site within Camp Hope, this service model substantially reduces barriers and increases equitable access to treatment for individuals experiencing homelessness. This Therapist SUDP role requires strong communication skills, the ability to build trust quickly, and sincere compassion for clients who are experiencing significant individual and systemic challenges.

Therapist SUDP duties may include:

  • providing individual & family therapy and facilitating behavioral health groups
  • completing mental health and substance use assessments for each client
  • developing an individualized treatment plan in collaboration with each client
  • monitoring clients’ symptoms and medication response and encouraging clients to practice illness self-management skills
  • assessing clients for safety and risk to self or others, and taking appropriate crisis intervention measures when indicated
  • completing all documentation in a respectful, client-centered manner

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field
  • Prior experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness
  • Active Mental Health Counselor license (LMHC) or Independent Clinical Social Worker license (LICSW) in Washington
  • Active Substance Use Disorder Professional license (SUDP) in Washington
  • Valid driver's license, vehicle liability insurance, and at least two years of driving experience
