What are we looking for in a Therapist?
Therapists at Comprehensive utilize evidence-based practices to provide clients and their families with support in learning new skills and connecting to community resources. Counseling and skill development may be provided through individual or group sessions, depending on need. Therapist positions require excellent listening and communication skills, as well as a desire to collaborate to assist each client with reaching his or her recovery goals. Clinical supervision and training in evidence-based practices are provided as part of this position. For this particular role, Therapists will be part of our New Journeys team, a youth-focused program whose goal is to minimize the trauma, disruption, and potential disability that can result from psychosis and schizophrenia-related symptoms. The New Journeys program works to identify as early as possible individuals who are experiencing psychosis, stabilize their symptoms, strengthen their family & social supports, and help develop the skills and knowledge to manage their condition for the long term. This program serves young people age 15-25 who have experienced their first episode of psychosis within the previous year. Although the work schedule will be mostly Monday-Friday day shift, due to the nature of the New Journeys program it will require on-call rotation.
