What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of IT and DevOps. Reporting to the CTO, this position will oversee and manage our internal IT infrastructure, outsourced Helpdesk, DevOps operations & practices and will own the uptime and maintenance of our production, DR and development environments. The ideal candidate will lead a team of four professionals, ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our IT operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong hands-on abilities, technical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

 

What You Will Do:

 

  • Leadership and Management:
    • Lead and mentor a team of IT and DevOps professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
    • Develop and implement strategic plans for IT infrastructure and DevOps in alignment with company goals.
    • Collaborate with the CTO and other senior leaders to drive IT initiatives and improvements.
  • IT Infrastructure and Helpdesk:
    • Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of internal organizational IT infrastructure, including servers, networking, and systems.
    • Manage the IT helpdesk to ensure timely and effective resolution of technical issues for employees.
  • DevOps and CI/CD:
    • Develop, implement, and manage DevOps practices to streamline the software development lifecycle.
    • Oversee the setup, configuration, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient code deployment and integration.
  • Production and Development Environments:
    • Ensure the stability, security, and scalability of production and development environments.
    • Coordinate environment setup and maintenance, including server and infrastructure management.
  • Systems Monitoring and Uptime:
    • Implement and manage systems monitoring solutions to ensure high availability and performance of IT systems.
    • Proactively identify and address potential issues to minimize downtime.
    • Own and manage incident response processes and procedures and handling, using cross functional teams, to meet uptime goals.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Implement, manage, and enforce security policies and procedures to protect the company’s IT infrastructure and data.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for IT security.
    • Oversee security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
    • Collaborate with teams to integrate security best practices into DevOps processes (DevSecOps).
  • Software Licensing and Procurement:
    • Manage the procurement and renewal of software licenses, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.
    • Optimize software licensing costs and usage.
  • Disaster Recovery:
    • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in case of IT system failures or data loss.
    • Regularly test and update disaster recovery procedures.

 

What You Will Need:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, DevOps, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and systems administration.
  • Experience managing AWS cloud stack + high availability Web architectures.
  • Proven experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure Pipeline, AWS stack).
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing IT challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Familiarity with maintaining SQL server database infrastructure is an advantage.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and migration of systems to a containerized environment is an advantage.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

The starting annual base pay for this position is $150,000 - $190,000 per year. The actual base pay offered may vary based on candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.

 

In addition to the base pay, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus as part of the compensation package.
