JOB STATEMENT: This critical role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all instruments, control systems and electrical equipment in the plant. Accountable for trouble shooting electrical systems, installing conduit, lighting, outlets, pull wires and assist facility / bottling maintenance as needed.

Essential Duties:

  • Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs industrial control systems and related devices including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), distributed control systems and Drives
  • Installs, examines, replaces, or repairs electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, coaxial cable assemblies, and other electrical components.
  • Preforms preventive maintenance on electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
  • Perform and document maintenance, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic instruments and systems.
  • Inspect, repair and remove all types of, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, and work with electrical systems.
  • Provide proper installation and diagnosis of AC/DC motors and controls, including across the line, soft starters and VFD’s, etc.
  • Perform advanced level work within inspection, calibration, repair, testing, adjustment, installation, and removal of all electronic and electrical plant equipment and systems.
  • Perform and document maintenance, calibration, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic instruments and systems.
  • Work with a wide variety of instruments, including ph, conductivity, ultrasonic, guided wave radar, flow meters, control valve positioners, pressure transducers, RTD’s, Thermocouples, etc.
  • Experience with all or a combination of several Allen Bradley RSLogix 5, RSLogix 500, Compact Logix, AB/Rockwell HMI’s, Factory Talk View Studio, Ignition, SCADA.
  • Plan layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus plant wide.
  • Ensure that work installed is completed in accordance with the standards set by the NFPA, NEC, and OSHA
  • Skillfully terminate electrical panels, circuit breakers, and transformers, ensuring proper connections and compliance with electrical codes.
  • Mentor and develop electrical apprentices, providing training and guidance to enhance performance and career growth.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education/Experience:

  • Degree from an accredited Industrial Electrical, Instrument or Technician program and a minimum of 4 years work electrical experience or Journeyman Card Electrician status performing Instrumentation and Electrical duties in a manufacturing, Industrial environment.
  • Thorough understanding in 480V, 3 phase power and its distribution
  • Thorough understanding of 120vac circuits and pneumatic controls with ability to repair.
  • Able to troubleshoot and repair relay circuits.
  • Reading and understanding electrical drawings and blueprints
  • Fabrication / construction / installation experience

 

Knowledge of:

  • Clear understanding of the N.E.C (National Electric Code)
  • Able to layout and bend conduit accurately and to N.E.C specifications
  • Able to do basic load calculations.
  • Complete tasks such as installation of motors, switches, switch panels, fuse boxes, lighting fixtures and controls, testing electrical & power circuits and any other electrical devices.
  • Determine proper size and specifications of wire, conduit, switches, panels, fuse, ect.
  • Inspect motors, switches, junction boxes, switch panels, circuit breakers, transformers, fuse panels, lighting, heating, power circuits and any other electrical devices.
  • Work safely using PPE (personal protective equipment) and LOTO (lock out tag out).
  • Trained in ARC flash safety and risk avoidance.
  • Able to read, understand and troubleshoot using electrical schematics and ladder logic.
  • Bottling / processing equipment and energy sources
  • Main power distribution

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: 

Side shield safety glasses, safety vest, head/ear protection and proper footwear when in production facility
