BlueForce Inc. is seeking Staff TrainerOperations Senior Technical Trainers in support of the Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI). Deployment to Togo, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, and/or other African countries is required. There are Technical Trainer positions for candidates having a minimum of 5 years of technical experience. Training schedule will be determined by the US Government ranging between 2-25 weeks a year.

GPOI is a U.S. Department of State security assistance program focused on building international peacekeeping capacity worldwide in close collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). The GPOI program’s mission is to strengthen the effectiveness of the United Nations (UN) and regional peace operations by enhancing partner countries’ capacities to prepare, deploy, and sustain peacekeepers and reinforcing UN and regional organizations’ performance and accountability frameworks. State’s Bureau of Political Military Affairs, Office of Global Programs and Initiatives, Peace Operations Capacity Building Division (PM/GPI/POCB) serves as the GPOI Program Office. 

The Staff TrainerOperations Senior Technical Trainer shall be one of the principal trainers conducting various peacekeeping-related contract training requirements. The candidate shall have a minimum of 10 years of technical experience which includes a relevant blend of military skills, experience, knowledge, and current certifications that will enable that individual to successfully train specific task performance objectives. 

The Technical Trainer shall support the Senior Technical Trainer in the conduct of all technical contract training requirements. The candidate shall have a minimum of 5 years of technical experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 
 

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of U.S. or NATO military experience; must include combat arms battalion/brigade staff officer experience on a U.S. or NATO military staff.  
    • Combat arms is defined as armor, cavalry, engineer, field artillery, infantry, special forces, or special operations forces.  
    • Staff officer experience is defined as a primary staff officer assignment on a U.S. or NATO battalion or brigade staff. 
  • Attainment of military grade of O4 and higher (or NATO equivalent). 
  • Relevant military operations or foreign security force (police or military) capacity building experience in the last 5 years. 
  • Experience as a senior trainer, military or civilian, to a foreign security partner with directly related experience in capacity building and unit level assessment. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 
 

  • Commanded a combat arms battalion-level unit in the U.S. or NATO military land forces.
  • Battalion and/or brigade staff experience while deployed to a combat, peacekeeping, or other contingency operation. 
  • UN peacekeeping operations experience
  • Regional experience in Sub-Saharan Africa.
