Position Summary:
Provides administrative support for the Office of Residential Life. The general hours of this position are Monday through Friday 9am - 5pm. This position is temporary from mid-January until May 16, 2025. This position does not include on-campus housing.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Dean of Residential Life and Residential Life Faculty as needed. Maintains on-going and daily operations of the office. 
  • Serve as an initial contact for Resident Life inquiries via telephone and email, and assist students and visitors when needed.
  • Organize and coordinate communications and information; obtain, interpret and provide information to faculty, staff and others concerning office functions, policies and procedures; communicate with administrative units to assure compliance with time lines. 
  • Compose correspondence on a variety of matters; compile and type various letters, reports and statistical data as directed.
  • Coordinate all transportation with the school nurse for medical and dental appointments. 
  • Coordinate all transportation for airport arrivals/departures. \Assist with providing transportation needs by driving students in school vehicles. 
  • Assist with residential life events, staff training, student orientation,  and dorm needs.
  • Operate a variety of computer programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Gmail, the G Suite, REACH Boarding Systems and other applications as required.
    Operate office equipment including facsimile, copiers, phone, voicemail and other workplace equipment used to conduct work.
  • Work confidentially with discretion on sensitive and private information applicable to student, faculty and staff personnel.
  • Work overtime and some weekends when necessary due to residential life events or needs.
  • Perform special projects and prepare various forms and reports; monitor and control administrative details on special projects/matters as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • At least 3 years of combined experience in office management and working with adolescents
  • Computer and database competency including willingness to pursue professional development for uses of technology. 
  • Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive work environment.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively 
  • A warm, empathetic demeanor and a collaborative and flexible nature

 

Physical Demands:  Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, and for the majority of the work day. May be required to lift up to 30lbs.
