General Description:  

    Responsible for performing duties as detailed in the job flow or as directed by the manager to include general oversight and preparations of the Dining Room, before and during hours of service, completing paperwork at start and end of shift, and assisting staff with closing duties.  Perform duties in compliance with established company policies and procedures, and performs in a professional manner.

 

     

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Demonstrates courteous and considerate manner to all guests.
  2. Assists in maintaining the dining room in a sanitary and orderly manner.
  3. Assists in evaluating and executing priorities for the efficient running of the dining room and assigned sections during service, while maintaining fine dining standards.
  4. Assists in training and monitoring of all staff.
  5. Assists planning, set-up and execution all catering functions
  6. Assists in maintaining standard documents ie. Seating, charts, inventory forms, HACCP forms etc.
  7. Performs other job related  duties as directed  by supervisor.

  • Computer
  • General Kitchen equipment to include- beverage dispensers, coffee brewers and dish machine

 

Key Accountabilities

 
  1. Lead server of dining assists in training and daily monitoring of quality standards.
  2. Proactively improving the resident dining experience-including handles special needs and complaints with compassion and professionalism and maintaining the dining room atmosphere.
  3.   Assists in maintaining standard documents for dining room (examples–HACCP forms, daily side job and sections sheets, inventory forms).
  4.   Assists with the planning, set-up and execution all catering functions.
  5. Demonstrates an ability to lead others in a positive manner while Contributing develops and carries out new ideas.

Qualifications

Work Area and Working Conditions:

  • Well lighted, well ventilated kitchen, dining rooms, and dish room.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Frequently exposed to wet and humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, fluctuating temperatures.

 

 

Entry Level Qualifications:

  1. Min 1 year previous waitstaff experience
  2. Internal job applicants must have achieved a Highly Accomplished score on their annual review.
  3. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.
  4. Computer skills
  5. Ability to positively present information in public both one-on-one and small group situations to residents, guests and employees.
  6. Ability to perform simple math
  7. Ability to perform those operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume.
  8. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  9. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

 

Physical Requirements: (with or without reasonable accommodation)

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee must be able to intermittently sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, stand, walk, use hands, talk, pull, push, feel, and smell stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee must be able to regularly lift and move 30 pounds and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
