General Vision

To provide coordination, care, and administrative support for Gospel Shepherding efforts at Veritas Church—ensuring people are meaningfully cared for, connected, and discipled through seasons of spiritual struggle or crisis. This role helps carry out the vision of Gospel Shepherding by managing systems, following up with people in need, and resourcing leaders who walk with others through relational, emotional, or spiritual hardship.

Essential Job Functions 

  • Coordinate and manage the systems that support Gospel Shepherding and Gospel Pathway, ensuring follow-up and communication flows smoothly.

  • Serve as a first point of contact for individuals seeking care, gathering information, offering encouragement, and directing next steps.
  • Assist in matching individuals with appropriate shepherding leaders or resources based on their situation.
  • Track shepherding cases and leader involvement to ensure no one falls through the cracks.
  • Communicate regularly with volunteer Gospel Shepherds, providing resources, scheduling support, and follow-up guidance.
  • Maintain and improve digital tools and documentation used in Gospel Shepherding (forms, systems, intake processes, communication tracking, etc.).
  • Assist with coordination and communication for Gospel Pathway (e.g., recovery groups, care classes, mentorship groups).
  • Support the planning and logistics for shepherding training or events.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Biblical Counseling Leader as needed.
  • Participate actively in the Adult Ministry team and assist other church-wide teams as needed.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in an administrative, ministry, counseling, or care-based role.

  • Previous experience supporting or coordinating volunteers preferred.
  • Familiarity with biblical counseling or discipleship ministry is helpful, but not required.
  • Experience in relational ministry or care settings is strongly preferred.

 

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Warm, compassionate, and relational presence—especially in conversations around spiritual or emotional struggles.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to maintain systems and follow-up processes with excellence.
  • High level of discretion, confidentiality, and trustworthiness when handling sensitive information.
  • Clear and encouraging written and verbal communication.
  • Emotionally steady, able to support those in crisis
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple tasks without needing constant direction.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and web-based systems (form builders, databases, etc.).
  • Experience or comfort working in ministry or pastoral care contexts is a plus.
