Job Title: Spanish Teacher

Reports to: Dean of Faculty

Status: Full-time, Exempt

Salary Range: Lick-Wilmerding High School uses a salary scale that is based on years of experience.


Position Description: 

World Languages Department faculty members will demonstrate the capacity to teach four sections of Spanish, including advanced levels. They should have the ability and desire to teach at all levels of the high school curriculum. This teacher also should expect to be available to students for individual help outside of class,and  to serve as an advisor to a group of approximately 12 students.

This includes, but is not limited to, furthering the mission of the school through participating in our Advisory, Public Purpose, and DEI Programs; as well as attendance in all curricular team meetings, department meetings, faculty meetings, and office hours to support students when needed.

Qualifications

Job Specific Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years teaching experience preferably at the high school level or higher
  • Native or near native fluency in Spanish
  • A deep knowledge of Spanish language and Hispanic cultures
  • Experience teaching Accelerated or Honors Spanish classes
  • Familiarity and practice with anti-racist, culturally-competent approaches to teaching and learning
  • Experience with student-centered teaching and learning, including differentiated instruction for students across various academic and social backgrounds
  • Demonstrated interest in curriculum development, innovation, and professional growth
  • A commitment to work collaboratively on a grade level team, as well as across disciplines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
