Department: Dynamis Engineering

Job Status: Full Time

FLSA Status: Salary Exempt

Reports To: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Channelview, TX - Electroquip Facility

Amount of Travel Required: 25%

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am - 5 pm; overtime as necessary.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Dynamis Mechanical Engineer assists with engineering, fabrication and operations of gas turbines and gas turbine packages. Primarily works with gas turbine auxiliary systems, packages, and related services and to aid in job execution by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may.")

  • Perform essential reviews of new and old mechanical designs and related equipment for gas turbine and power generation equipment.
  • Red line engineered drawings.
  • Evaluate new and existing products.
  • Implementation of new products.
  • Support operations with installation and commissioning of gas turbine and other equipment as needed.
  • Facilitate communication between manufacturing and engineering.
  • Assist in troubleshooting oversite on gas turbine and other applicable equipment.
  • Provide pre-job and post-job analysis where applicable.
  • Conduct work in accordance with safety rules, standard operating procedures, and workplace.
  • Participate in essential training of personnel on gas turbine package set-up and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate operational readiness of gas turbine and related power generation equipment.
  • May aid in implementation of more efficient working tasks.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successfully passes pre employment background check.
  • Possesses a valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • In-person, predictable attendance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required.
  • 5-15 years of gas turbine or power generation equipment experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings required.
  • Specific knowledge of GE LM gas turbines and related auxiliary systems required.
  • Experience with GE/Siemens/Solar turbines strongly preferred.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to work within a team concept to successfully complete assigned tasks.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to take instruction well and interact with other employees in a positive manner within the framework of assigned work groups.
