Gentry Locke Attorneys is seeking a motivated individual to join our civil litigation team in Richmond. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a litigation paralegal role is required; experience in eDiscovery is strongly preferred. This position collaborates directly with multiple attorneys assisting in all aspects of trial and case management, as well as assisting with other administrative tasks. The successful candidate will be an ambitious, organized team player who works well in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential. The willingness and ability to learn and expand on current technology skills including versatile cloud apps is required in order to navigate the robust technology package the firm maintains.

- Reviews and analyzes cases to assist in preparation of case for trial and/or hearings.
- Reviews and analyzes matters for the purpose of preparing evaluations and status reports for clients.
- Assists Attorneys by preparing documents such as drafting complaints and answers, routine notices, statements of facts, motions, petitions, and case status reports.
- Establishes, organizes, and maintains pleading boards, attorney trial boxes and notebooks, expert witness notebooks, document indexes and lists, as necessary.
- Locates and confers with expert witnesses and resource people. Arranges for expert witness inspections and obtains approval from counsel of record and specified parties.
- Conducts research and locates cases, depositions, opinions, reports, and supporting information.
- Contacts and interviews parties, witnesses, and experts, including obtaining written statements from witnesses.
- Reviews and outlines depositions and indexes and summarizes documents.
- Utilizes computerized litigation techniques and software when applicable.
- Assists in trial preparation.
- Performs assigned legal research using all available resources.
- Manages voluminous records and is familiar and mindful of Patient Privacy Act and confidentiality.
- Follows the ethical requirements as set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the state.
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
