Job Summary:
This position exists for the purpose of providing leadership and oversight to the Field Hockey program at Lancaster Bible College and assigned department operational duties.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains seasonal coaches.
- Oversee the daily workflow of the Field Hockey program.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times.

Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree preferred in a health or sport related field.
- Previous collegiate participation and/or coaching experience
- A demonstrated faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
- A demonstrated ability to develop the academic, spiritual, physical, and social needs of college students.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Licenses: Current and valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to work independently and work evenings and weekends to accomplish the tasks necessary for success in this field.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Regular attendance is an essential function to perform the duties of this position.
- Knowledge and understanding of collegiate Field Hockey rules and NCAA regulations.
Responsibilities:
Coaching Responsibilities:
- Deliver a coaching philosophy in line with the LBC mission and promise.
- Construct and implement a spiritual development plan for your team that includes opportunities for individual testimony sharing, devotionals, leadership development, and routine individual meetings.
- Develop a competitive team in the United East Conference and in the regional DIII landscape, maximizing student-athlete talent and supporting high academic and spiritual standards.
- Recruit locally, regionally, and nationally student-athletes that are a mission fit for LBC and are athletically capable of performing competitively at the NCAA DIII level.
- In partnership with LBC Admissions, recruit and maintain a roster to a minimum of 80% of the full roster expectation of twenty-two.
- Demonstrate Christian values in attitudes, words, and actions.
- Select, supervise, evaluate, and guide the professional development of assistant coach staff.
- In partnership with the LBC Athletics compliance officer, ensure the program and student-athletes operate within the rules of LBC, the United East, and NCAA DIII.
- Must score an 80 or better on the NCAA Rules test annually.
- Manage operational budget with fiscal responsibility and stewardship.
- Work closely with the Sports Information Director to develop a media plan and promotion of the program.
- Inventory, manage and update equipment and assist with management of all game and practice facilities utilized by the team and department.
- Represent the LBC Field Hockey program at required conferences and national meetings.
- Host a minimum of one Field Hockey clinic/camp that brings exposure to the program within our community.
Athletic Responsibilities:
- Attend departmental meetings.
- Serve on campus wide committees as requested, as well as other operational duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
