The Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center of Denver (JCC) is seeking a responsible, customer-focused, and eager individual who enjoys hands-on work for the position of Facility Maintenance Technician.  Under the direction of the Director of Property Management, the Facility Maintenance Tech will engage in all aspects of daily facility management of our campus in Denver. The Facility Maintenance Tech is responsible for responding to the service needs of internal staff, our guests, and vendors.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing daily facility management and general building maintenance for grounds and common areas. Includes, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction, painting, landscaping, snow removal, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining an annual preventative maintenance program for all key systems.
  • Responds to facilities service requests.
  • Determines actions needed to address facility needs, is responsible for making independent decisions, as appropriate, and able to manage time independently.
  • Work with preventative maintenance, housekeeping, groundskeeping, and security vendors to adjust scheduled activities to be responsive to program changes and to ensure proper set-ups and support for weekly activities in the building.
  • Support staff with proper guidelines regarding facility needs.
  • Attend meetings as required by the Director of Property Management and/or Chief Operating Officer (COO) to ensure program needs are understood and all key activities are properly communicated and coordinated.
  • Assist with ordering, purchasing and inventory of key materials, parts, and supplies needed to support maintenance and facilities.
  • Any other duties delegated/assigned by the Director of Property Management or COO.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Requirements

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial building maintenance and/or related field.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate would have a 2-year technical degree or trade school certification in a related field and two years of supervisory or project management experience.
  • HVAC Certification a plus.
  • Experience with maintaining indoor/outdoor pools a plus.

 

Physical/Mental Requirements:

 

  • May be called to work evening, early morning, weekends, and/or holidays in support of special functions and events.
  • Tasks are varied and may include working in an inclement environment or weather.
  • This position is physical and requires lifting, sitting, bending, standing, pushing, lying down, and reaching. 
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds periodically.
  • Shoveling snow and lawn maintenance may be needed (seasonally)
  • Some tasks may involve strenuous outdoor maintenance activities.

The JCC contributes a portion of medical, dental, and vision plan premiums. The JCC proudly pays for 100% of Basic Life Insurance, AD&D, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage for benefits-eligible employees. We also provide additional voluntary benefit plans.

 

The JCC has a 401(K) Plan available for elective deferral contributions for employees over 21 years of age with no waiting period. The JCC matches 50% of employee contributions, up to 3%, on a 5-year vesting schedule.

 

Paid Time Off is a day-one benefit accrued based on years of service and in compliance with the Colorado Health Families & Workplaces Act. First-year, benefits-eligible employees may accrue up to 120 hours of Paid Time Off in their first year of service. The JCC also provides paid holidays, and benefits-eligible employees are awarded up to 4 additional “Floating Holidays” per year, prorated based on the date of hire.
