 Summary/Objective

The Systems Engineer for DataPath possesses multitasking ability, general analytical skills, exceptional communication skills, excellent organization and leadership skills, and has proven experience in integration design of complex system solutions.  This Engineer applies these skills in an interdisciplinary manner focusing on customer needs and requirements to design, develop, document and test hardware and/or software systems ranging from the simple to complex.

Job Responsibilities

  • Significant domain knowledge of SATCOM products, systems and solutions.
  • Perform analysis, design, documentation, and test support of complex systems.
  • Contributing to the architecture shaping for robust, reliable and high-performance products, considering functional and technical requirements
  • Defining, implementing and managing the development architecture and supporting toolset required to build and test complex systems in an efficient and rapid manner
  • Advising on technologies, vendors, and tools selection
  • Developing strong relationships with technology vendors to influence emerging product strategies
  • Supporting development, test and operations teams in troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing technology problems
  • Provide input to technical & product roadmaps
  • Provides engineering SME information by answering questions and requests from internal and external stakeholders
  • Supports new product proposals and presentations as required
  • Provide technical integration leadership, SME, and QA support to client engagements focusing on complex & innovative proposals & projects, when required
  • Supports project leadership to estimate, track, and report project costs and schedules while managing scope & risk
  • Assists with analysis and troubleshooting of high-level technical issues with the company’s products, systems, or solutions
  • Recommend new approaches and techniques to achieve continuous improvement in systems development processes
  • Make decisions that may have a major impact on cost, schedule, technical performance, and customer satisfaction
  • Ensures that projects are high quality
  • Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests from internal and external stakeholders
  • Provides guidance on technical standards for product regulatory, project requirements, and market purposes
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
  • Protects company IP and technical data from unauthorized disclosure; complies with ITAR regulations

Travel

  • Frequent travel (~35%) may be required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an applicable engineering or science field, and six to eight years of experience; or in the absence of a bachelor's degree, twelve to fourteen years of related experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office® programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Visio, MS Project, OneDrive).
