Summary

DataPath, Inc. is seeking a full-time Senior Staff Accountant. This role has primary responsibility for maintaining the general ledger, recording journal entries, performing account reconciliations, maintaining fixed asset management, month close and year-end close responsibilities, and supporting the Assistant Controller and Corporate Controller in any accounting or reporting function as needed. In conjunction with the Corporate Controller, this role shares responsibility for maintaining an accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of the company, applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, follows department policies and procedures, implements improvements and SOX controls, and serves as a resource in all aspects of accounting.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Assumes primary responsibility for the timely completion of general ledger reconciliations, payroll reconciliations, maintenance of fixed asset records and analysis of cost accounts and related P&L activity.

· Assists with effective preparation, maintenance, and reporting of internal and external financial records and analyses.

· Assists with preparing daily, monthly, annual, and other periodic financial statements and reports.

· Assists during the annual audit. Assists in assuring that accounting records and reports are in compliance with GAAP and government regulations. Cooperates with and assists external auditors as appropriate.

· Completes reports and analyses of departmental and area operations as requested by Management.

· Assists in implementing and maintaining SOX internal controls.

· Completes special accounting projects as assigned.

· Other accounting and finance duties as needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

Understanding of US governmental regulations and reporting requirements

Understanding of related auditing functions

Intermediate to advanced knowledge and experience using MS Office, specifically Excel

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Five or more years of General Ledger and GAAP accounting and financial reporting experience.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Able to organize, coordinate, and work independently

Strong oral and written communication abilities

Solid analytical and technical skills

Able to use all related hardware and software

Strong work ethic

Personal and financial integrity

Optional Skills and Experience:

CPA certification or advanced accounting degree work, a plus

Experience with a federal contractor, especially a Department of Defense contractor

Experience with Deltek Costpoint ERP software

Experience with project accounting and reporting
