Overview

We are looking for an energetic Senior Program Director who is experienced in working with the government to lead a team of Program Management Professionals to execute programs focused on our clients’ missions. 

 Basic Purpose of Position:  Effectively lead DataPath’s Program Management Organization (PMO) to manage and grow programs relative to attaining cost, schedule, risk and requirements management, resource management on programs, and performance goals. Interface with customers (both internal and external) to communicate requirements such that all parties are working together to achieve the program goals. Work closely with the customer to drive growth of the program. Conduct testing/ R&D to develop solutions for supported commands and deliver reports and recommendations to the customer.

 Oversee all aspects of projects, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor, and summarize progress.  You will work to build and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors and other departments and stakeholders involved in the projects.  Selected applicant will prepare reports for upper management and answer questions they have.  Experience in scope control is necessary.  We need someone who is accustomed to a high degree of creativity and latitude in their role and can help lead the PMO team and customer to ask the right questions. Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and sound business judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others.

Responsibilities

Provide key technical and programmatic performance details for the Programs assigned to the PMO  and reporting directly to the President.  This team’s responsibilities include:

  •  P&L performance of program
  • Manage program lifecycle: development, engineering, manufacturing and test, delivery, installation, commissioning, training,& end-of-life
  • Manage customer relationships:  voice of the customer (VOC)
  • Negotiate key issues with the customer, both financial and project based
  • Identify growth opportunities within current programs
  • Develop bid strategy and coordinate bid efforts
  • Analyze financial information relative to bids and program progress
  • Improve or maintain as-bid program schedule and financial performance
  • Support Business Development in customer pursuit and lead generation
  • Key liaison between company and internal/external customers
  • Prepare and supply information for annual revenue plans and budgets
  • Self-starter with a passion for solving complex business issues
  • Willingness to take ownership of highly challenging tasks and problems
  • Exceptional communication skills, successfully using multiple verbal and non-verbal behaviors to deliver a compelling message

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen with an Active Top Secret Level Security Clearance or the ability to obtain it
  • BA/BS in business, technical or related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills with ability to collaborate and work effectively with individuals and groups
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Strong background in Deployable Tactical Communications
  • Demonstrated analytical problem solver with strong computer skills
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal & communication skills
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) experience preferred
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • Understanding of the Defense acquisition and budget process
  • 10+ years government program management experience
  • Ability to defend ideas/point of views to clients, team members and government leaders
  • Aptitude to thrive in a team atmosphere, while defining issues/hypotheses, performing complex analysis, and assisting with preparation and recommendations of solution alternatives
  • A passion for innovative ideas, coupled with the ability to understand and assimilate different points of view
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently, meet deadlines and focus despite conflicting demands
  • Exhibits mature organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Accomplishes tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn and adapt very quickly.
  • Able leadership skills in a variety of environments.
