Position Summary
As an Electrical Mechanic, you are responsible for assisting electricians with various tasks, including digging, trenching, sawing, drilling, and cleaning work areas. Your role requires initiative, a willingness to learn the electrical trade, and adherence to all safety and regulatory guidelines.
 

Responsibilities
 

General Duties

• Perform commercial electrical duties as assigned.
• Assist with trenching and excavating tasks.
• Install underground conduit as needed.
• Saw, drill, cut, and grind materials as required.
• Perform all clean-up tasks as assigned.
• Receive and deliver materials to employees under supervision.
• Install devices, trim, and lamp fixtures as needed.
• Move and install heavy electrical equipment when necessary.
• Perform all other duties as assigned..

• Follow all state, federal, and company safety standards, policies, and regulations.
• Maintain focus on the safety of yourself and others at all times.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with regulations.

Training and Development

• Actively engage in learning the electrical trade.
• Complete assigned training courses.
• Seek professional development opportunities.
• Mentor and guide less experienced team members.

Communication and Reporting

• Assist Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Report any issues or necessary corrections to HR or supervisors promptly.

Requirements

• Communicate effectively.

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, and perform other physical tasks.

• Ability to work in various weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, sit, drive, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, grasp, push, pull, and twist.
• Use your hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Have close vision and color vision; normal hearing

Education and Experience

• 2-4+ years of electrical experience; preferably in commercial electrical work.
• High school diploma or equivalency preferred; required if enrolling in apprenticeship

Work Environment

• The role requires extended periods outdoors, often in direct sunlight and varying weather conditions.
• Regular exposure to potentially dangerous conditions including electrical hazards, confined spaces, heights, and other high-risk environments associated with construction activities.

Supervision Exercised

• None. However, you are expected to mentor others with less knowledge and experience.
