JOB SUMMARY

The Community Engagement Specialist (CES) promotes Partnership for Strong Families (PSF) and its services across the 13 counties served by the agency. The CES is responsible for working closely with the Director of Development and Engagement (DDE) in developing a climate of awareness and acceptance for PSF by creating and communicating clear, concise and consistent professional messaging to community stakeholders, agency staff and network providers. This position, reporting directly to the DDE demonstrates leadership and problem-solving techniques and is responsible for persuasively communicating PSF’s mission and programs to potential partners and funders.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and maintain extensive knowledge about Partnership for Strong Families’ programs and services.
  • Manage PSF’s presence across all social media sites, including Facebook and Instagram. Utilizing independent judgement, create and maintain an engaging and informative online environment and ensure all content is updated and geared toward intended audience.
  • Create and publicly present information regarding our agency, and current needs to audiences at various community meetings.
  • Utilizing a high level of skill to assist in the preparation of agency communications including newsletters, various agency materials, and promotional items. 
  • Lead the coordination of special events and regular donation drives such as Wish Upon a Star, the Back-to-School Drive, and Amazing Give with DET staff.
  • Under the direction of the DDE, lead development efforts across thirteen counties that help increase PSF’s ability to serve the youth in our care.
  • Coordinate Children’s Partnership Council meetings, develop a plan of strategic communication with all council members and maintain CPC budgets with great attention to detail. Ensure effective communication is kept with members and seek to identify areas for CPC growth and development. Using feedback from Children’s Partnership Councils, develop a plan for regional outreach to increase PSF’s reach and presence in North Central Florida.
  • Actively grow a network of support for PSF by participating in community networking events, chamber meetings, non-profit fairs and regularly looking for networking opportunities to grow the visibility of PSF.
  • Actively seek out grant and funding opportunities. Take a lead role in the development of grant proposals and editing of proposal content.
  • Promptly respond to online communications and interactions using a high level of skill and attention to audience needs and expectations.
  • Coordinate intern/volunteer recruitment.
  • Displays understanding of, and sensitivity to, service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Must understand, support and promote the organization’s mission, vision and values; and uphold the professionalism of the organization at all times.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent; and a minimum of one year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Strong organizational skills including the ability to lead multiple projects. Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software with exceptional writing skills.

Special Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in engaging target audiences. Experienced writing on deadline. Proficiency in Adobe Suite Software. Experience in Social Media Management.

Possession of a valid, State of Florida driver’s license to operate the motor vehicle operated; Requirement exists at the time of hire and as a condition of continued employment.
