Description

Summary/Objective:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsperson to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating technical drawings and plans based on specifications provided by architects, engineers, or designers. This role requires proficiency in CAD software, a strong understanding of construction and engineering principles, and the ability to translate conceptual designs into accurate, detailed drawings.

 

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Prepare technical drawings, plans, and diagrams using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks)
  • Work from rough sketches, specifications, and calculations provided by engineers, architects, or designers
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure drawings meet project specifications and standards
  • Revise drawings based on feedback and ensure final versions reflect all requested changes
  • Maintain drawing records, documentation, and version control
  • Assist with design tasks as needed, including 3D modeling or rendering
  • Ensure drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
  • Conduct site visits to collect data or verify design feasibility, as required

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

Education & Experience:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related field

Skills/Competencies:

  • Proven experience as a draftsperson or CAD technician in the general construction industry
  • Proficiency in relevant software (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and construction methods is a plus
  • Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a production office environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Tools & Equipment:

Computer, telephone, copy & fax machines and company provided tools

Work Hours:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.  This position is eligible for some remote work

Travel:

As required by the position, generally less than 10%

Training:

Training for this position will be conducted per HydroWorx Training Program
