Job Summary:

The Accountant is responsible for assisting with preparation of monthly financial statements, processing Accounts Payable, daily entry of transactions into accounting software, monthly bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts, daily entry of administrative cash receipts and activities related to consumables and non-consumables.

Qualifications

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and post monthly journal entries to accounting system
  • Petty cash reconciliation at month end
  • Posts payments received into General Ledger accounts
  • Maintain daily tracking spreadsheet for accounts receivable deposits and posting
  • Posts accounts payable invoices daily and prepare payments upon approval
  • Reconciliation of general ledger accounts to subsidiary accounts
  • Track grant expenditures for multiple grants
  • Assists with preparation of monthly financial reports
  • Assists with preparation of reports for Board of Directors meeting monthly
  • Maintains all records in a professional and acceptable manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • One to two years’ experience in health care setting desired
  • Experience in accounting or bookkeeping desired
  • Experience with MIP software preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Little to no physician effort or strenuous activity other than incidental walking, standing, bending, reaching and carrying light loads (1 – 5 lbs.)
