We have an opportunity for a top candidate to join Maryville College’s staff as the new Assistant Volleyball Coach.
As the new Assistant Volleyball Coach, you will assist the Head Coach in carrying out all assigned and auxiliary duties of the women's volleyball program.
Your primary job duties and responsibilities would include:
- Assist in the recruiting of all potential student athletes.
- Comply with NCAA, the Collegiate Conference of the South, and Athletic Department policies.
- Establishes good rapport and generates respect among students, campus colleagues, and the local community by conducting oneself in an ethical manner.
- Assist in the equipment management for the volleyball program.
- Assist in the supervision, scheduling, and maintenance of facilities.
- Work with academic support staff in the monitoring of the academic progress of each student-athlete.
- Attend as required, all practices, meetings, and contests.
- Assist in filing all reports relative to their sport, as assigned by the Head Coach.
- Assist in the selection, training and supervision of student assistants and managers.
- Assist in the organization and supervision of all off-campus trips including being available for overnight travel.
- Participates in college sponsored or off-campus sports camps and coaching clinics with the approval from the Athletic Director.
- Assist in video breakdown through Hudl.
- Maintain office hours as assigned by the Head Coach.
- Auxiliary duties may be assigned by the Head Coach and Athletic Director.
- Serve as a Game Manager for select home athletic events.
Minimum qualifications for this job required are:
Education required to ensure success in this position:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
Experience required to ensure success in this position:
- Minimum three years of coaching experience required.
Special skills, knowledge and abilities:
- Ability to meet multiple demands in a positive manner.
- Ability to work independently but also as a positive member of a team.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to effectively work and communicate with individuals of varying cultures and backgrounds.
- Ability to meet time commitments and the physical demand required of an athletic coach in a collegiate setting.
- Understanding, support and commitment to student success as part of the Maryville College experience.
- Familiarity with the NCAA Division III philosophy, preferred.
License, certification, or registration necessary:
- Valid Tennessee Driver’s license is required, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
- Maintain the MC transportation driving requirements for the school fleet.
- Pass the NCAA rules test yearly, and maintain certifications in First Aid & CPR as required by the NCAA.
