Description

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Breast Care team. The NP will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients with breast health concerns. This role combines clinical expertise, patient education, and support in managing various breast care needs, including screenings, diagnostics, and treatment planning. Typical hours are weekdays, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with one remote admin day. There is no call requirement. 

Compensation: $105,000 to $135,000 per year based on experience

What You’ll be Great At:

  • Seeing patients in the clinic for general care, high-risk assessments, imaging, survivorship, and follow-up appointments.
  • Assessing and establishing a presumptive diagnosis and implementing treatment plans.
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing and consults as appropriate and prescribing appropriate medical therapy utilizing evidence-based practice.
  • Prescribing, adjusting, or discontinuing medications or therapies as appropriate.
  • Evaluating and reporting to physicians any circumstances or test results that present a significant risk to patient health or well-being.
  • Communicating appropriate information to physicians, patients, PCP, and referring staff.
  • Providing an exceptional experience for our patients.
  • Partnering with our MD team to manage benign patients through ongoing surveillance.
  • Providing genetic counseling, either independently or in collaboration with a physician.
  • Collaborating with our fellowship-trained surgical breast oncologist to develop and expand a specialized breast care program.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary care teams in a patient-centered, provider-led environment.
  • Conduct peri-operative care, including history, physical exams, and care planning in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Manage pre and post-operative patients.
  • Communicate effectively with the care team, patients, and families, offering education and guidance.

Qualifications

Education and Licensure

  • Board-certified Nurse Practitioner with an active license in New York State.

Experience

  • Prior experience in women’s health, oncology, or breast care is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with breast imaging, diagnostic procedures, and cancer treatment protocols is a plus.
